Wilson, AR flips the small town stereotype on its head.

Now a popular tourist destination for those in the Mid-South and beyond, Wilson looks to use the arts, community, and good, old-fashioned Southern hospitality to bring change to Mississippi County. To help keep the town’s innovation and tourism flowing, we provide the city with everything from media to merchandise. Using Wilson’s history as our guide, we set out to reinforce the town’s growth by doing what we do best- catching people’s attention.

INTERACTIVE

Wilson’s website feels fresh, yet lived-in, just like the town. By trimming the fat off your traditional, bloated town website, we created a slim interface with helpful information for visitors, getting you in and out and on your way to Wilson.

THE WILSON MUSIC SERIES

Highway 61 is no stranger to a good song. Wilson hosts a number of high-caliber musical guests for their quarterly Wilson Music Series. For each of the shows, we create limited edition posters, shirts, and more.

For 61 South Music Fest, the Music Series’ first music festival, we created everything from stage banners, all the way down to VIP passes. Taking place off of the historic Highway 61, on the Cotton Patch Football Field, the design of 61 South was heavily influenced by its location.

TOWN FESTIVALS

Wilson is always ready to throw a good party. The Crawfish Festival and Fall Fest are two annual events that are local and out-of-town favorite.

For each poster, we take the festival’s familiar elements and combine them with a contemporary style, creating a modernized look that stays true to its roots. Each design starts with a rich color palette reflecting the event’s season and is then laid out with bold typography and eye-catching illustrations

WILSONIAN

Formerly the Wilson High School’s yearbook, we gave The Wilsonian new life as the city’s newsletter.

While digging deep through the archives of the Mississippi County Historical Society, we found all the materials necessary to construct a truly authentic piece of Wilson press with a modern twist. The newsletter showcases the most recent happenings in Wilson, upcoming events, and features guest spots and interviews from the local townspeople.
The Wilsonian was the name of The Wilson School's yearbook, until the final class of 1970. These yearbooks are time capsules of Wilson-specific history and experience and serve as the longest running Wilson publication to this day.

To further reference The Wilsonian’s history, we pulled ad illustrations from the Wilsonian yearbooks, using them in new advertisements for today’s local businesses.

MERCHANDISE

Using old photos, graphics, and maps as the main source of inspiration, we created a modern look that stays true to the town’s rustic, southern charm.

While looking through the Mississippi County Museum and Wilson archives, we discovered and repurposed a variety of illustrations and photos- including Lee Wilson, the town’s founder, on his horse.

The ”1886” icon is woven throughout Wilson’s merchandise, celebrating the year the town was established.

SIGNAGE

The Wilson Welcome Center’s exterior signage stands tall, complementing the longstanding building with a vintage look. On the inside, we mapped out the environment to create an inviting space for all passing through.

Window vinyl displays each business’ logo with a crisp, matte finish and custom exterior signage gives The Grange a contemporary feel.

For Wilson’s town square banners, we overlaid the signature Wilson “W” on a map of the city and provided festive alternatives for the holidays.

SOCIAL MEDIA

These days, tourism begins online. Wilson’s social media showcases forthcoming events, local businesses, and presents a snapshot of daily life in the pleasant, small town.

Whether you want to see the cafe’s specials, what the weekly farmer’s market has on deck, or what classes the Hampson Museum is hosting, @visitwilson is the place to go.

Around Town

THE WILSON CAFE

A welcoming sight on the corner of the Town Square, the Wilson Cafe is a bustling community hub and the city’s main restaurant.

Both the menus and website combine clean design with bright pops of color and whimsical vintage illustration, mirroring the polished-yet-casual tone of the Cafe. With the daily specials and the menu front and center, navigating eatatwilson.com is easy on any device.

The Next Generation of Wilsonians

We’re fortunate to contribute a lot of work to the revitalization of this small town Delta gem across the river from Memphis.

To meet the needs of their growing population, Wilson, Arkansas had us name & design the branding for three new residential developments in town.

BIENVILLE

Nestled against an elbow of the river, in the shadow of the levee that keeps it there, we named this community Bienville, after the great French engineer whose levee innovations in New Orleans made modern life in the Delta possible.

THE BUNGALOWS

The Bungalows are closest to the town square and offer a fully amenitized and cozy modern option for young families and individuals just getting started on their Wilson chapter.

ALLUVIUM

Alluvium is the soil the big river brought to this part of the Delta. Wandering in and out of its banks, flooding, receding, draining an entire continent for thousands of years.

That rare richness and fertile dirt launched a global agricultural trade that defined the last 150 years around here. It’s a fitting name for the most luxurious, custom built home community in the Arkansas delta.
