Let’s Roll: Hattie B’s Shoot
HATTIE B’S HOT CHICKEN - FOOD & BEV
In Summer ‘22, Hattie B’s introduced a new app and rolled out some hot summer merch. To drive awareness, our team quickly orchestrated a lifestyle shoot, effectively hitting two birds with one skateboard-sized stone.
Game Plan
Lifestyle shoots aim to push the brand’s boundaries while maintaining relevance. And somehow, skateboarding fit right in with both products. It’s a lifestyle characterized by mobility, independence and creativity. Let’s face it, you look cool in anything when you’re doing a kickflip. Not to mention, it’s incredibly fun to shoot.
The first step was conceptualizing. For the app video, our goal was to demonstrate the user-friendly interface and showcase the convenience of ordering with a few taps, then rolling up to pick up your food. The merch shoot seamlessly followed the app video through photo and video of skaters doing their thing in our new ready-to-wear gear.
Once the concept was solidified, we turned to picking the location, gathering some inspo, and selecting our talent.
LOCATION: Skate park right around the corner from our office and Hattie B’s Memphis.
INSPO: Peak 90’s and early aughts skate videos with a modern sensibility.
TALENT: A few talented skater friends.
Order On the App
ROLL UP
We shot the app video 30 minutes before the crew arrived at the skate park. It was step-by-step toward the location; we timed it perfectly arriving just as our talent pulled up.
So give it a try, and order on the app. You could have this much fun too.

TUNES ARE ESSENTIAL
Let’s Roll
Once we wrapped the app video, we moved right into merch (after fueling up on some hot chicken). It was a hot, humid, and sunny Memphis day. Just as we wanted.
We outfitted the talent in new merchandise then shot a mix of photo and video, focusing specifically on movement and flow. It was exciting to watch the skaters do what they do best while we just captured away!
